Randolph William “Randy” Woodring, 68, of Centralia, Wash., passed away at home, Sept. 17, 2017, surrounded by family, while listening to the Seahawks game, holding his daughter’s hand. Randy was born Feb. 6, 1949, to Jack and Rose Woodring. His mother, Rose, was a movie buff,  naming him after her favorite actor, Randolph Scott.  He was  born  and  raised  in  Pe Ell, Wash., graduating from Pe Ell High School.

Durning his youth, Randy loved hunting with his father Jack, uncle Harry Maurerman and friends George Walsh, Bob Thomas and Bert Thomas. After graduation, he married his high school sweetheart, Carole Rolfe on Feb. 19, 1972. In 1978, together, they moved to Centralia, Wash., opening Woodring’s Custom Draperies, while Randy was working for Purdey Company in Chehalis, Wash.

In April 1979, their daughter, Amanda, was born. Randy thrived when surrounded by family. He loved taking care of his lawn and washing his red Dodge pick-up in his later years. Randy never went a day without watching his favorite soap opera, Days of Our Lives. He was a huge fan of the Seahawks and Mariners, watching all of their games.

In Randy’s later years, many remember him as, the guy with the pet cat, Rambo, who he taught to walk on a leash, while living at Cooks Hill Manor. And, others, remember him as, the guy who would be crawling around the shrubs, in front of Cooks Hill Manor, untangling Rambo, while on a leash. Randy loved that cat and enjoyed 19 years loving him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Rose Woodring of Pe Ell, Wash.; brother, Alan Lee Woodring; and Carole Woodring of Centralia, Wash.; nephew, Justin Woodring; and his beloved cat, Rambo.

Randy is survived by his daughter, Amanda (John) Curry of Centralia; grandchildren, Erick Medina, Austin Medina and Kaylee Curry all of Centralia; brother, Christopher (Charlene) Woodring of Chehalis; sister, Gina Calleo of Doty; special nephews, Anthony (Leah) and Christian Calleo of  New York and Jesse Rolfe of Centralia; special niece, Ashley (Brian) Woodring and Kristina (Aaron) Wright of Olympia; great-nephew, Noah Wright;  great-niece, Nai’a Wright; and many dear friends.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017, at 1 p.m., at Claquato Cemetery, lot 566, space 2, Garden of Devotion, Sunset Memorial Gardens, with a potluck celebration of life immediately following.  Bring your favorite dish to Borst Park Kitchen #1, Centralia, WA 98531 to share your memories of Randy.

There will always be heartache, and often a silent tear. We shall cherish the memories of the days when you were here. Remembering you is easy, we do it every day, but missing you is heartache that never goes away...        ~ Author unknown~
