Peter Andrew Wesen, 80, passed away May 12, 2019, at Providence Centralia Hospital. He was born Nov. 12, 1938, to Lloyd and Dorothy (Wollan) Wesen in Starbuck, Minn.

He married Clara Anna Volk Sept. 20, 1958, in Centralia, Wash. Peter was 17 years old when he left Centralia High School to join the United States Navy. He eventually became a local business owner and ran the Wilson Hotel and Tavern for 20 years before his employment at Dan Hull Distributing, where he retired at the age of 67.

Peter is survived by his two sons, Darren Wade and Jason Blake (Lisa) Wesen of Centralia; three grandsons, Brycen (Erin), Colten (Caitlin) and Justin Wesen; three granddaughters, Dr. Ciara (Dr. Amir) Atabeygi, Nicole (Jacob) Foster and Samantha Wesen; sister, Jane Lynette (Jerry) Stray; and special friend, Elizabeth Handgardner.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Clara Anna (Volk) Wesen; father, Lloyd L. Wesen; mother, Dorothy J. Wollan; and brother, Patrick Wesen.

Peter was a collector of early Americana. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, race cars, stock cars and each year he planted geraniums for his beloved wife. He also did a fair amount of traveling to Seaside, Reno and other fun destinations and was a local youth sports coach for several years.

A viewing will be held at Newell-Hoerling’s Chapel in Centralia, Tuesday, May 21, 2019, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery in Centralia, Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at 12 p.m.
