The family relocated to Randle in 1937. In 1953, she graduated valedictorian from Randle High School.  Immediately after high school, she married Red Rogers and by age 22, she found herself with four rambunctious children.

She is survived by her sons, Brian (Beth) of Seattle, Dennis (Mary Jane) of Elma and Gary (Ginger) of Toledo; daughter, Ellen Devitte (Philip) of Federal Way; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Myrtle had a passion for baking cakes, cookies, breads and just about everything in the dessert category. Every year she baked a special birthday cake for each of the grandchildren.  These were elaborate cakes that took many hours to bake and decorate. Myrtle also loved flowers, yellow roses, gladiolas and christmas cactus’ being some of her favorites.
