Myrna Lee Welch

Myrna Lee Welch of Centralia, Wash., passed away Dec. 4, 2017. She was born July 12, 1941, in Centralia to John and Florence Gray (Kofol).

Throughout her childhood, she attended Centralia schools, graduating from Centralia High School in 1959. Following graduation, she entered nursing school and became a registered nurse in 1964. Myrna married the love of her life, Bill E. Welch  Aug. 28, 1965, and they enjoyed over 40 years together.

Myrna worked as an emergency room nurse at the Centralia Providence Hospital for 15 years. She enjoyed visiting others, family gatherings, shopping and most of all, she loved attending her niece’s and nephew’s activities. Myrna’s fun spirited personality always lit up a room, as she always enjoyed the company of family and friends.

She is survived by her sister, Nancy Woodbury; sisters-in-law, Bertie Esborg of Olympia and Jo Kuehner of Chehalis; brother-in-law, John (Sandee) Welch of Chehalis; niece, Lynn (Merle) Rolfe; nephew, Steve Woodbury; great-niece, Krissy (Aaron, Noah and Nai’a) Wright; great-nephew, Jesse Rolfe; and many other family members.

There will be a graveside service at Mt. View Cemetery, at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017. A celebration of life potluck will follow immediately at Myrna’s home.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Newell-Hoerling’s Mortuary, Centralia.
