Mary Lou (Southwick) Primm, 90, of Chehalis, Wash., went to be with the Lord, April 13, 2019, surrounded by her family. She was a resident of Sharon Care in Centralia, Mary had dementia but to the end was able to let us know she heard us and was aware of our presence.

She was born Aug. 23, 1928, to Goldie T. Southwick and John Southwick, in Aberdeen, Wash. She lived most of her life in Lewis County and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Mary enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting and all domestic activities. Her work experience was secretarial and waitressing. She loved her four girls and took great pleasure in attempting to make them all ladies, from the curls growing up to the formals in high school.

A beautiful lady full of life, a blast to hang out with, always the life of the party. Mary was an enthusiastic dancer and continued to participate in dances until she was not able. She enjoyed traveling around the United States by motorhome for several years.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorothy “Dot” Truesdell; and brother, John “Jack” Southwick.

She is survived by her brother, Daniel Southwick; aunt, Jo Southwick of Yuma, Ariz.; her four daughters, Jody (Schindler) Halvorson of Mill Creek, Wash., Danna (Schindler) Ashby (Gale Ashby) of Union, Wash., Jeannie (Robert) Woodard of Olympia, Wash., and Dianne (Michael)  Anzelini of Chehalis, Wash;  grandchildren, Dane Halvorson, Misty Miller, Jesse Ashby, Jon Ashby, Melody Auseth, David Ashby, Joseph Ashby, Andi Pavledes, Sarah Mikesell, Nichole Elliott, Mark Parr, Brittney Swartz, Carey Anzelini and Gabriel Anzelini; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 12 p.m., April 26, 2019, at Recreation Park, across from our family home growing up, on 13th street.

“We miss you, mom. I know you are walking through the gardens while the dew is still on the roses and enjoying the up close and personal presence of our wonderful Savior Jesus!”
