Lewis Earl Driver

Lewis Earl Driver, 86, passed away, June 16, 2018, at Maple Street Manor in Pe Ell, Wash.

He was born, in Denver, Colo., Aug. 29, 1931, to Nina (Levi) and David Driver.  Lewis was the 10th of 11 children. The family moved to Dryad, Wash., when Lewis was very young and he attended the Dryad school.  

He met the love of his life, Joy (Hopkins) and the couple was married, May 3, 1952. They enjoyed 63 years together, before her passing, in 2016.

Lewis worked for Richard Hoffman farming, cut timber for many years and spent all of his summers haying.  Later, he went to work at the Pe Ell School District, as a bus driver.  All nine of his grandchildren rode his bus to school every day, until he retired.  Lewis loved his job at the school.  He was loved by all of the kids and staff and was requested to drive the bus on many trips.

Lewis was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Joy.

He is survived by his children, Randy (Darla) Driver of Dryad, Wash., Debbie (Kurt) Wetzold of Catonsville, Md., and Terry (Tracy) Driver of Shelton, Wash.; grandchildren, Rachel, Bridget, Brittany, Tassidy, Tanissa, Tanyelle, Jenny, Paul and Katie; and 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Clayton (Hoot) Driver of Chehalis, Wash.;  special niece, Tonya (Robert) Stoeck of Puyallup, Wash., and their children, Danielle, Tony, Jordan and Tyler.  Tonya lived with Joy and Lewis throughout high school.

A graveside service is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., Monday, June 25, 2018, at Claquato Cemetery in Chehalis, Wash.
