Jeanette Marie Amrine passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2018. She was born Oct. 7, 1932, to Alois and Flora Rakoz, in Toledo, Wash. Jeanette married James Amrine and together they purchased Jeanette’s grandparents’ farm in Toledo, where they raised their family. Jeanette stayed home and helped on the farm while Jim worked for Darigold. During their school years, the kids could always count on her to be a room mother, attend field trips and bring treats to the class. After Jim retired, they traveled a lot to Reno and took several cruises including Alaska and  the Carribean.  She was well known for her delicious cooking and baking.  You could always count on fresh baked bread, cookies or brownies if you stopped by.  She also baked wonderful pies, cinnamon rolls and blackberry cobblers. She loved to make all kinds of candy and cookies for Christmas and trick or treaters could always count on receiving a yummy popcorn ball and homemade cookie for Halloween.  Jeanette loved to knit slippers, work word search puzzles and watch game shows on television.  She enjoyed going to the casinos where she played 20 cents on the penny machines. Many evenings you could find her playing cards with whoever stopped by.

Jeanette is preceded in death by her husband, James Amrine; and her parents, Alois and Flora Rakoz.

She is survived by one sister, Margaret Gooby of Shelton, Wash.; her four children, Ronald Amrine (Kathy) of Salkum, Kay Lyon (Kim) of Toledo, Mike Amrine (Kim) of Toledo, and Bob Amrine (Mugsy) of Chehalis; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Oct. 20, 2018, at the Toledo First Baptist Church.  A potluck meal in the church fellowship hall will follow.
