Earl Raymond Becker

Earl Raymond Becker, 95, of Olympia, Wash., passed away Sept. 23, 2017. He was born in Jamestown, N.D., Oct. 3, 1921, and lived in Montana until moving to Western Washington with his family.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II and later worked as a barber and an insurance agent. Earl was an active member of Disabled American Veterans and enjoyed dancing, playing cards, traveling, hunting and fly-fishing.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, August and Sadie; first wife, Margaret; son, David (Susan); brother, Clell (Leta); and sister, Barbara Benson.

He is survived by his wife, Leona; daughters, Sharon Sommerseth and Patricia (John) Hitch; stepdaughters, Joan Shepherd and Jeanne Reinke; sisters, Darlene (Verlyn) Kraxberger and Sadie (Greg) Schuller; grandchildren, Rochelle, Brent (Amy), Beth (Laurie), Kenneth (Keri), Vaughn (Jessica); great-grandchildren, Emma, Lily, Ashlyn, Caleb, Koby and Kaden; as well as extended family members and friends.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018,  from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Chehalis Masonic Temple, 123 W. Main St., Chehalis, WA 98532.
