Diane Irene Ueltschi, 75, passed away from heart failure in Centralia, Wash., May 20, 2016.  She was born Aug. 10, 1940, in Forks, Wash., to Harley and Vivian Witherow.

She is survived by five children, Tim Ueltschi of Yakima, Peggy Beaber of Selah, Melodie Wilson of Adna, Fred Ueltschi of Bellevue and Denise Nelson of Bellevue; six grandchildren, Michael Beaber, Tyler Ueltschi, Wesley and Jake Wilson, Stella and Mia Nelson.

Diane graduated from Forks High School in 1959. She attended Washington State University for commercial cooking and then graduated from Clark Community College in Vancouver, Wash. in 1962.  She married William Ueltschi in 1963 and started their family in 1964. Bill and Diane settled their family on Wilandia Dairy in Adna, Wash., in 1979 and eventually retired the dairy farm in 1992. After the passing of her beloved husband in 2007, she continued gardening and caring for a small amount of livestock on the farm until 2012.  Diane has been a member of the Bethel Assembly of God since 1979.

She loved baking, gardening, sewing and spending time with family, friends and members of the church.  She devoted her life to helping others by raising and teaching her children everything she knew, supporting Bill on the farm and volunteering through local organizations and supporting missions of the church.

Diane was a loving and kind woman, who made friends with everyone she met. Some of her fondest memories were spending time with her sisters and cousins over lunch, listening to her grandchildren and nephews play musical instruments and supporting her son, Fred, in the Special Olympics.

A celebration of Diane’s life will be held at Bethel Church at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, May 26, 2016.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown Mortuary Service, 229 N. Market Blvd., Chehalis, WA 98532. 360-748-4496.
