Dean Arthur Marshall, 88, of Salkum, Wash., went to be with his Lord Oct. 25, 2019. His wish was granted, he got to be at his home, watching the waterfalls when he passed. Dean was born in Hattiesburg, Miss., March 19, 1931, to Arthur and Lenore Marshall.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; and brother, Jack Marshall.

Dean married Regina Mitten Marshall in 1956, and they had four children, Gregory Dean, Suzanne Lenore, Lance Alan (Charity) and Lisa Regina (Howard). He had 10 wonderful grandchildren, Ashleigh, Brittany, Caitlin, Coleman, Peighton, Maddie, Jenna, Bo, Jonathan and Evan; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Dean and Regina divorced in 1988, and remained good friends. He married Marie (Powers) Marshall in 1998.

Dean was a Centralia High School class of 1949 graduate. He was a United States Air Force captain and retired in 1956. Dean tested and flew many types of jets. He graduated from the University of Washington and started many small businesses. One of his current businesses, Martronics Corporation, is 57 years old. Dean was an inventor and had a brilliant mind and an awesome sense of humor. He built his home in Salkum on a bridge overlooking a set of waterfalls. Dean also built 22 floating homes in Mallard Cove on Lake Union in Seattle, Wash.

He was known for his brilliant mind, gentle spirit and endearing ways. Dean loved to feed people and was always making a joke or trying to make someone laugh. You always left him with a full belly, bags of snacks and a lighter heart. Time with his kids and grandkids was his favorite. Great memories were made on boat trips to the San Juans, beach vacations and even just meals at Rib Eye. To have Dean as a dad and a grandpa, you knew you always had someone in your corner. The day, the time, the circumstance, did not matter. If you needed him, he would be there. We will miss you forever.
