David Paris Hayes Jr., 72, passed away after a long battle with cancer early morning Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, at the Centralia Providence Hospital. Born in Yakima, Wash., and raised in Selah, Wash., the son of David and Eileen Hayes, he spent the last 45 years of his life a resident of western Washington.

He leaves his wife of 43 years, Margie Hayes; daughter, April Munyon along with husband, Larry Munyon; his son, Josh Hayes along with wife, Mariana Hayes; his son, Will Hayes along with wife, Mollie Hayes; his daughter, Rachel Ryan; brother, George Hayes along with wife, Debbie Hayes; sister, Judy Ruthardt along with husband, Ken Ruthardt; sister, Vicki Naylor along with husband, Robert Naylor; five grandchildren; and many close friends.

In his early years, he would work with his father and brother hauling hay across the state, followed by a family tree service. He graduated from Selah High School in 1964. He met his wife in 1974, while attending Seattle Community College and they were married in 1975, in Chehalis, Wash. He carried on the hard working family tradition and raised his family while running a family tree service.

In 1985, thru his faith in God and with the help of others at Alcoholics Anonymous, Mr. Hayes developed a passion for helping others through their struggles with addiction. He spent over 30 years making dear friends and positively impacting many lives along the way.

Mr. Hayes had three true passions, hard work, love of life and family, and a compassion for helping others through struggles in life. He learned long ago what many struggle with, he could only find true serenity through his ability to pass along this compassion for his fellow man.

A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, at Cattermole Funeral Home in Winlock, Wash.
