Charles W. “Bill” Carlson was born Oct. 1, 1928, in Ross, Calif. He passed away Aug. 24, 2019. Bill and Adele (Kuehner) were married Sept. 14, 1950, and they have three children, Joe, Keith and Lee Ann.

He graduated from Napavine High School in 1946, Centralia Community College in 1963, and Pacific Lutheran University with a bachelor of arts degree in 1965, and a master’s of arts degree in 1974. Bill taught in the Chehalis School District for 25 years. He and Adele enjoyed traveling and took many RV trips with Sam’s Twin Rollers. He enjoyed trail riding, gardening, reading and spending time with family.

Bill lived a full and vibrant life, he weathered setbacks by working hard and calling on his faith to guide and sustain him. Bill was a kind and gentle man. The family is grateful to the team from Peace of Mind Home Care who cared for Bill and Adele.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Sigrid Carlson; brother and sister-in-law, Henning and Maxine Carlson; and nephew, Jerry Carlson.

Bill is survived by his loving family, Adele, his wife of 69 years; sons, Joseph (Kerrie) and Keith (Marie); and daughter, Lee Ann (Mike Von Huene); grandsons, Kacy Carlson and John Carlson; granddaughters, Shawna Gray (Jacob) and Dana Hallett (Tyler); and his great-grandson, Locryn Hallett, who would make Bill’s face light up for the past year; nephew, Mike Carlson; and numerous nieces, nephews and other cherished family members.
