Cecilia Legat Rarey Swinney entered into her next adventure on June 24, 2015 at age 101 years. Cecilia was born Dec. 24, 1913 in Saint Urban, Washington and lived her entire life in Winlock until, moving to Chehalis West Assisted Living for the last five years. After marrying Sherman Rarey in 1933, they had three sons. Sherman died in 1960 and in 1963 she married Earl Swinney. Earl passed away in 1997.
Cecilia loved to knit, crochet and was an amazing seamstress. She loved to travel, fish and play cards. Cecilia was a longtime member of the Olequa Senior Center and the Lewis County Trail Dusters.
She is survived by sons, Lloyd (Annie Lee, deceased), Dave (Nancy) and Ed (Luella); nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
Cecilia was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
A memorial service for Cecilia Josephine Rarey Swinney will be held July 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Winlock.
Arrangements are under the care of Cattermole Funeral Home, Winlock.
