Carolyn Lee Graham, affectionately known as Sam, 69, of Chehalis, Wash., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019. She was born in Centralia, Wash., to Jessie (Rogers) and Jim Steele, Feb. 20, 1949.

She graduated from Toledo High School in 1967. After graduating, she went to work for Bank Check Supply in Centralia. In the mid 1980s, she worked for the Chehalis Livestock Market. Later, she was employed as a paraeducator in the Chehalis School District at W. F. West High School. She also owned and helped operate Four Seasons Forestry.

Carolyn married the love of her life, Harold "Buzz" Dec. 5, 1969. This coming December would have been their 50th wedding anniversary. Together, the couple had four children.

Carolyn was a life time member of the Centralia Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed watching athletic events and being involved in family get-togethers. She enjoyed all activities the kids were involved in and was a strong supporter of Bearcat Wrestling, where at times it could be risky sitting next to her. Carolyn’s passion for her family would light up her eyes when they were together. She was always a safe harbor for the kids to come and talk. Her parents and family background had a profoundly positive effect on how she lived. She will be greatly missed.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; and in-laws, Harold and Sevina Graham.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Harold; siblings, Rita (Ross) Mcdowell of Chehalis and Greta Jean Nelson-Swinney of Olympia; children, Timothy Graham (Heather) of Chehalis, Donald Graham (Chrystal) of Chehalis, Todd Graham of Chehalis and Kathleen Kelly (Devin) of Ethel; six grandchildren, Brennen Graham (Sydney) of N.D., Bryce Graham (Courtney) of Winlock, Mikayla Rockey (Lance) of Chehalis, Tanner Graham of Kelso, and Kendall and Kinley Kelly of Ethel; one great-grandchild, Braylee of N.D.; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A potluck reception will follow the graveside service, location to be determined. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choosing.
