Betty Lou Anderson

Betty Lou Anderson went Home to the Lord, Feb. 23, 2018. She was born in Wichita, Kan., Aug. 23, 1927, to Ivan and Helen Wilson. At the age of two, she was joined by her sister, Lois Jean.

In 1944, the family moved out to Seattle, where Betty graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1945. After a brief move back to Kansas, the family once again came out to Seattle, where she met the boy next door, Donald Anderson and they were married Sept. 26, 1947.  They subsequently moved to Centralia, where they made their home for over 64 years.

Betty and Don owned Centralia Bowl for approximately 10 years, where she not only bowled but also was league secretary for most of the leagues during this time. She also worked various jobs, including bus driver and secretary at the Centralia First Christian Church, where she and Don were longtime members. In her later life, she enjoyed watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, working crossword puzzles, reading, knitting and traveling. Betty and Don enjoyed several trips to Alaska, as well as an extended trip around the United States.

She will be remembered for her unfailing love for her family and friends, her patience and strength, her service to others and her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.

Betty is survived by her three children,  Nancy (Joe) Johnson of Wasilla, Alaska, Craig (Lisa) Anderson of Gresham, Ore., and Michael (Denise) Anderson of Centralia. She is also survived by her sister, Lois Lutes of Odessa, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many others who will miss her greatly.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, in 2012

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, May 6, 2018, at the Centralia First Christian Church from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
