Veronica (Nosko) Livingston

Veronica (Nosko) Livingston passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at home in Centralia.  Veronica was born to Walter and Apollonia (Novolinske) Nosko on May 25, 1925 in Centralia, Washington. She was a lifelong Centralia resident.

In 1942, Veronica graduated from Centralia High School, then attended Central Washington Teachers College, graduating in 1946. She dedicated her life to education and shaped the lives of 100s of children, spending 38 years teaching third grade at Edison Elementary in room #five. The sound of children on the playground was music to her ears. She retired in 1990, after 43 years teaching.

Veronica was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She spent her spare time reading, quilting, gardening, playing tennis and golf.

Veronica was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; brothers, Joseph (who was still born), Joseph (passed away at three months) and Carl.

She is survived by sister, Barbara Peterson; nephews, Steven Peterson and Walter Nosko; nieces, Cecilia Jan Alexander, Susan Ola Powers and Mary Elizabeth Stewart.
