Anne passed away Friday, Feb. 16, 2018. She was born May 5, 1945, in  Grand Blanc, Mich. Anne was the second child, of six, of Hugh and Byrdie Gundry.  Her father devised the word MASHMAR to remember the names and sequence of his children, Mary, Anne, Sue, Hugh, Margaret and Robert. MASHMAR was his personalized license plate on his car. Both parents and Mary passed away previous to Anne.

In 1967,  Anne received blood transfusions during a  medical procedure.    Unfortunately, the blood was tainted with Hepatitis “C”, which was not  discovered until a test was devised to detect the virus in the early 1980s. From that point on, she always took into account the condition of her liver and the disease as it ran it’s course.  She fought many battles with the disease and won them all, even having it cured a couple of years ago with the development of a new drug to treat it. Alas, the damage was not reversible and she succumbed to it on the 16th.   Anne won the battles, but the disease won the war. Another battle she won, twice, was with cancer.

In  1998, she moved to Salkum, Wash., from Southern California,  with her husband, Jim and started her own business, ALP Tax and Accounting. Anne had worked for others since high school doing tax work and had obtained her bachelor’s degree in accounting and passed her exams to become a certified public accountant.  She really loved her clients and the help she could provide for them. Since founding the firm, it had been her hope and dream that her two children, Peter Davidson and Tricia Davidson, would one day join her firm and share the joy she had found helping people.  Her dream was fulfilled when both moved to this area and joined her in the firm…Tricia joined her remotely from San Diego, via an online server in 2009, and moved here in 2016, after earning her masters degree in accounting and her EA license and Peter moved here in 2017, and joined the firm. They will continue her work  at ALP Tax and Accounting at the same location, carrying on her legacy.

Anne is survived by her son, Peter and his wife, Cheri and their two children, Josh and Justin; daughter, Tricia and her son, Wesley; husband, Jim and his daughter, Jennifer and grandchildren, Lexus, Maizee, Madelyn and Matthew; and her brothers and sisters, who traveled from around the country to be with her as the end approached.

She was a firm believer in giving back to friends, neighbors and the community.  Anne was a Fire Commissioner for the Salkum District since shortly after relocating here and was an officer in the Lewis County Fire Commissioner’s Association and the Lewis County Democrats organization. She was involved with numerous non-profit organizations through donating her time, work and love. She truly loved the people she worked with and they, in turn, loved Anne.

In accordance with her wishes, there will not be a funeral service nor a memorial service and her cremation ashes will be distributed on the property, alongside the ashes of her mother

Any party wishing to honor Anne is encouraged to donate to Planned Parenthood and/or your favorite Cancer Society organization.
