Valley View Health Center

Valley View Health Center in Chehalis has achieved accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, which distinguishes organizations for providing the highest quality care to its patients.

The accreditation is determined by an independent, external process of evaluation, according to a press release from Valley View.

To become an accredited organization, Valley View Health Center had to meet nationally recognized standards for the provision of quality health care set by the AAAHC. More than 6,000 ambulatory health care organizations across the nation are accredited by the AAAHC.

“We believe our patients deserve the best,” Steve Clark, executive director of Valley View Health Center, said in the release. “When you see our certificate of accreditation, you will know that AAAHC, an independent, not-for-profit organization, has closely examined our facility and procedures. It means we, as an organization, care enough about our patients to strive for the highest level of care possible.”

Organizations seeking the accreditation undergo an extensive self-assessment and on-site survey by AAAHC expert surveyors which include physicians, nurses and administrators who are actively involved in ambulatory health care.

The survey is educational and consultative, presenting the best practices to help an organization improve its care and services, according to the release.

“Going through the process challenged us to find better ways to serve our patients, and it is a constant reminder that our responsibility is to strive to continuously improve the quality of care we provide,” Clark said.

Valley View Health Center opened in Chehalis in 2004. Services have expanded to include medical, dental, behavioral health and pharmacy services at 11 clinic locations in Lewis, Thurston and Pacific counties.

The health center employees approximately 170 staff members.

Depending on an individual’s income, a sliding fee discount may be available.

The AAAHC was founded in 1979 and is the leader in ambulatory health care accreditation.
