Twin Cities Sertoma Donates Funds For Children With Disabilities

Posted

The Twin Cities Sertoma service club, a longtime supporter of special education programs in Lewis County, recently provided financial assistance in the amount of $7,905 to those programs either through direct monetary grants or help applying for national Sertoma Club grants.

The club, which dates back to 1967, helped special education programs purchase refurbished iPads for students who are unable to purchase their own for home educational use.  The financial assistance the club provides area special education programs is often focused on students impacted by speech or hearing disabilities.

Funds raised this year by the club also went towards five subsidies given for new hearing aids, four hearing aid molds and three repairs of existing hearing aids.

For more information on the club, visit TwinCitiesSertoma.com or attend one of the weekly club meetings from 7:30-8:30 a.m. on Thursdays at the Olympic Club in Centralia.
