Twin Cities Groups Move Forward With ‘Choose Local First’ Campaign

Posted

In hopes of attracting more customers to locally owned businesses, the Chehalis Community Renaissance Team, the Centralia Downtown Association and the Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce created a campaign called Choose Local First.

Officials connected with the campaign say that even small changes in shopping habits can have big impacts on the local economy.

Campaign organizers hope to see changes in consumer habits increase the sale of products as well as improve business at locally owned restaurants and service companies.

Businesses will be able to hang small signs in their windows to signify participation. Brochures for the program are available at Chehalis City Hall, the Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce and the Centralia Downtown Association. Area businesses are also invited to offer suggestions for getting others involved.
