Thurston County Commissioners on Tuesday approved a one-time payment of $60,000 to the Lacey Veterans Service Hub.

The funds will be used to cover the lease for two years, County Manager Ramiro Chavez said.

“We are doing what we can do to give adequate service for veterans in our community,” Commissioner Gary Edwards said. “We would be speaking Japanese or German if it wasn’t for the veterans and their service to our country.”

The hub is located at 4232 Sixth Ave. SE, Suite 202, in Lacey. It is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. It helps connect veterans to services. For more information about the hub, visit laceyveteranshub.org.
