One person was seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision Saturday south of Napavine on Interstate 5, according to a report from the Washington State Patrol.
The crash was reported at 1:23 p.m. Saturday at about milepost 67 of I-5, about 3 miles south of Napavine.
According to the State Patrol, a black 2008 Honda Pilot driven by Kim C. Mao, 50, of Longview, was heading southbound on the freeway driving at “reckless speeds” when the it rear-ended a second vehicle, a white 2000 Honda Accord.
Mao was not injured. The driver of the Accord, identified by the State Patrol as Gold E. Obi, 26, of Tacoma, was seriously injured and airlifted to St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma.
Two children in the Mao’s vehicle, ages 3 and 5, were not injured.
According to the State Patrol, a charge of vehicular assault against Mao is pending.
Drugs or alcohol are not suspected to be a factor in the incident.
