The First United Methodist Church in Centralia will present the documentary “War Made Easy: How Presidents and Pundits Keep Spinning Us to Death”on Jan. 18 as part of the ongoing Lewis County Community Conversations program.

The upcoming presentation is sponsored by the Fire Mountain Chapter Fellowship of Reconciliation and Veterans For Peace Rachel Corrie Chapter 109. A press release provided by Larry Kerschner, a member of  Veterans For Peace Rachel Corrie Chapter, noted that, “War Made Easy reaches into the Orwellian memory hole to expose a 50-year pattern of government deception and media spin that has dragged the United States into one war after another from Vietnam to Iraq.”

The film is narrated by noted actor and activist Sean Penn and features archival footage in order to lay out a pattern of manipulation from head government officials to distribute pro-war propaganda through news outlets.

The presentation will take place on Thursday, Jan. 18, from 7-9 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 501 S. Washington Ave., Centralia.
