A man was injured in Centralia Thursday evening when he was pinned between his own rolling vehicle and a parked car.

Other people at the scene sprang to action, pushing the male’s car backward so he could be freed. He was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital for treatment, according to a Centralia Police Department officer.

According to a police incident log, at around 8:24 p.m. Thursday, the male was attempting to push his inactive vehicle into a parking spot in the 600 block of Harrison Avenue. The vehicle started to roll down a slope in the parking lot, said Sgt. Buddy Croy, so the owner jumped in front of it to bring it to a halt.

Instead, the vehicle’s owner was pinned to a parked car in the lot. Witnesses at the scene were able to free him. Croy said police were uncertain of the extent of the male’s injuries, saying he was handed off for treatment.
