The number of homes newly listed for sale in Lewis County is down to 111 in March compared to 132 this time last year. However, the number is up compared to February 2017 when 98 homes came on the market.

The median price rose 7 percent in March to $180,000 compared to $168,000 in March 2016. This is also up from February of this year, when it was at $155,000.

According to John L. Scott Chairman and CEO J. Lennox Scott, 75 percent of homes are sold within the first 30 days of being on the market, according to a monthly report from the Northwest Multiple Listing Service.

“March sales activity is lower than a year ago due to the fact we are virtually sold out,” explained Scott. He also said the lack of inventory is feeding the buyer frenzy for each new listing in the more affordable more affordable price ranges.
