Motorcyclists to Take on Johnston Ridge in DeRosier Memorial Run

Motorcyclists will join for a 60-mile ride from the Kelso/Longview Elks to the Johnston Ridge Observatory Saturday at Mount St. Helens in memory of fallen Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Deputy Justin DeRosier.

Organizers hope to make it an annual event, which will raise money for a scholarship fund in honor of DeRosier.

The “Ride To The Mountain” costs $20 per rider and $10 per passenger, according to the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office. Lunch is included for both.

Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. the day of the ride at the Elks, located at 900 Ash Street in Kelso. Kickstands go up an hour later.

After the ride participants can return to the Eks for a hot dog lunch, raffles and a full-service bar.
