Mossyrock Earns State Grant to Upgrade Community Center, City Hall

The city of Mossyrock has been awarded $26,658 to conduct energy efficiency upgrades to its community center and city hall, the Washington State Department of Commerce announced in a release.

According to the agency’s media relations manager Penny Thomas, the funds will cover a lighting retrofit at both buildings and window replacement at the community center. Few other details were available about the project, but Thomas said that’s fairly normal.

“The projects are selected and then a contract is executed between the grantee and Commerce with more details in order for the funds to be released,” she said.

Mossyrock Mayor Randall Sasser did not return a message seeking comment.

The project is part of $8.7 million in energy efficiency funding awarded by the agency.
