Meeting Roundup: The Chronicle Becomes Lewis County Paper of Record

Posted

The Chronicle was selected to print legal notices for one year beginning on July 1 during Monday’s Lewis County commissioners meeting.

The Town Crier and the East County Journal both also submitted bids in the process. The Journal was the previous newspaper of record.

Also at the meeting, Linda Tomasheck, of Centralia, was appointed to the Southwest Washington Fair Commission.

Tomasheck was appointed to fill a vacancy on the board, which helps administer the county fair, for a four-year term expiring in 2021.

An agreement between the county Sheriff’s Office and Cascade Mental Health to provide services at the  jail was also signed.

It allows Cascade Mental Health to provide counseling services to inmates.

This April was also proclaimed as Lewis County Pomona Grange Month with the tagline “Setting Sail for a Brighter Future.”

The Pomona Grange is 115 years old and county documents said April was proclaimed its month so all members could exemplify their “principles of service and commitment to our families, homes, farms, and communities both today and in the future.”
