'March for Our Rights' Rally, Where Participants May Openly Carry Guns, Expected to Draw 2,000 to Capitol

The "March for Our Rights" rally, which is scheduled for Saturday at the Capitol Campus, could draw up to 2,000 people to Olympia, according to the Washington State Department of Enterprise Services.

The pro-gun rally begins at noon Saturday at the northern steps of the Legislative Building, and is expected to run until 2:30 p.m. The event's Facebook page showed 9,600 people who were "going or interested" as of Tuesday afternoon.

Participants are likely to openly carry firearms during the rally, as allowed by state law. The event is expected to impact traffic on campus.



The Washington State Patrol will have troopers on duty, and advises anyone who suspects a threat to the campus to call 911.

Speakers confirmed to attend the event, per a Facebook page, are Master of Ceremonies Tessa Ashley, organizer; Chief Ben Charles, Lower Elwha Tribe, who will give an opening prayer, Kerry French, who will sing the National Anthem Aryeh Rohde, who will lead the pledge of allegiance; Sharyn Hinchcliffe, Seattle Pink Pistol; Robert J. Sutherland, 39th District candidate; Marty McClendon, former Lt. Gov. candidate; Jered Gavin, 5th District candidate; Elizabeth Scott, 39th District senator candidate; Rep. Jim Walsh, 19th District; Tiffany De Leon, Libertarian State vice chair; Joey Gibson, U.S. Senate candidate; Tyler Miller, Initiative 1621 (Secure Safe Schools); Naomi Davis, 26th District candidate; Allen Acosta, Libertarians MC/Gun Rights Coalition; Isa Cline, Long Beach city councilman; Kyle Paskewitz, Family Court Reform Nation founder; and Randy Vanaddisson, former air marshal.
