Lewis-Pacific Swiss Society Celebrates 49th Annual Oktoberfest

On Saturday, Oct. 6, the Lewis-Pacific Swiss Society celebrated their 49th Annual Oktoberfest at the Swiss Hall located in Frances. 

Featured at this annual event is an outdoor traditional Swiss style 9-pin bowling tournament, horseshoe tournament and pinochle tournament.

Bowling tournament winners were as follows: 

Mens bowling: First — Paul Christen, 25-22-22; second — Allen Hodel, 24-23-22; third — John Hodel, 24-22-21.

Womens bowling: First — Brittany Kaech 23; second — Stacy Engel, 22-22-20; third — Tonya Christen, 22-21-20.



Horseshoe tournament winners: Craig Ashley — first place, Dylan Barrett — second place, Randy Mullins — third-place.

Pinochle tournament winners: Nikki Young — first place, Sunny Schilter — second place, Maxine Kaech — third place.

The evening concluded with a dance to live Polka music by the Blaser Band and the coronation of the Swiss Miss. Megan Krafczyk, 16, of Pe Ell, was crowned Swiss Miss for 2018-2019.  Megan is the daughter of Mike & Tonya Krafczyk, and granddaughter of Frank and Kathy Krafczyk.
