Lewis County Secures Funding for Pre-Paid Ballot Return Postage

Lewis County voters won’t have to pay for postage when they mail in their ballots this fall, thanks to a grant provided by the state to all of Washington’s counties.

The county will receive $18,644 toward ballot postage following the statewide measure announced by Gov. Jay Inslee and Secretary of State Kim Wyman. The pair are working to secure permanent funding for future elections.

Lewis County auditor Larry Grove praised the move.

“This is about offering our voters the same advantage and process to provide consistent treatment of all voters across county borders statewide,” he said in a statement.
