The Lewis County Republican Party Precinct Committee Officers have released a list of their endorsements for the November General Election, following a special meeting Monday to discuss their decisions.

The group has endorsed incumbent Jim Walsh and candidate Joel McIntire for the 19th Legislative District House and Richard DeBolt and Ed Orcutt, both seeking re-election for the 20th Legislative District House positions.

In local elections, the group endorsed Dianne Dorey, running for reelection as Lewis County assessor and Gary Stamper, running for reelection to the Lewis County Board of Commissioners. The group also endorsed unopposed candidates Larry Grove for auditor, Scott Tinney for county clerk, Warren McLeod for coroner, Jonathan Meyer for county prosecutor, Rob Snaza for sheriff and Arny Davis for treasurer.

Lewis County Republicans also endorse a ‘no’ vote on I-1631 — a carbon tax initiative; a ‘no’ vote on I-1639, “to protect our Second Amendment rights,” according to the group; a ‘yes’ vote on I-634, to prevent municipalities from instating taxes on groceries; and endorsed a $30 car tab initiative.

The Lewis County Republicans have regular meetings at the Chehalis Eagles the first Monday of every month.  For more information contact Olga Miller, Republican County Chair at 360-262-3554 or olga105@earthlink.net.
