Lewis County PUD to Hold Rate Hearings Tuesday, Nov. 5

Posted

The Lewis County Public Utility District 1 has scheduled a hearing on a proposed rate increase for 2020 for 10 a.m. Tuesday at the district’s facility at 240 7th Street in Morton.

The rate hearing will take place during the PUD’s regularly scheduled business meeting.

Last month, the Lewis County PUD 1 board of commissioners passed an $82 million budget for 2020, balanced in part by a 4.75 percent increase in electric rates.

While the budget has been passed, the PUD board of commissioners still needs to officially approve the proposed rates.

A second rate hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Nov. 5 at the PUD’s regularly scheduled business meeting at its Chehalis office.

The commission is scheduled to have a first reading of the new rate schedule on Nov. 19 and is scheduled to vote on the new rates on Dec. 3.

If approved, the rates would go into effect Jan. 1, 2020.  For more information, go to lcpud.org.
