Members of the Lewis County Board of Commissioners and Centralia City Council preferred this option for Borst Avenue rehab presented by SCJ Alliance during a workshop meeting in early April.
The Board of Lewis County Commissioners on Monday approved a resolution ratifying a contract for consulting work on a project to add sidewalks to Borst Avenue.
The contract is with SCJ Alliance for a total of $79,111, said county Public Works Director Erik Martin.
The county and the city of Centralia plan to split the cost proportionally, he said.
SCJ will provide consulting services including project management, “right of way delineation” and preliminary design for the improvement project.
SCJ recently met with representatives from the city and county to discuss preliminary design options.
SCJ will also be tasked with developing the project design and budget, allowing Lewis County and the city of Centralia to apply for grant funding this fall. The contract will run until Dec. 31, 2017.
