Leaking Pipe Forces Closure at Thurston County Courthouse

Posted

A leaking pipe in the ceiling of the Thurston County Courthouse forced the closure of the district court’s probation office Tuesday.

Probation appointments for the afternoon were canceled. The county advised anyone who had an appointment to contact their probation officer Wednesday to reschedule.

Other district court proceedings were continuing as planned.

The leak appeared to be coming from a drain pipe that comes off the roof through the ceiling. It started about noon, according to a county tweet, and happened in the district court lobby in front of the probation office.

The county will ask voters in April to raise property taxes to build a new courthouse to replace the 41-year-old complex on Lakeridge Drive Southwest in Olympia.
