KACS Radio Network to Hold Annual Sharathon Fundraiser

Local Christian radio network KACS-KACW-KBSG will host its annual Sharathon fundraiser on Wednesday and Thursday.

The network is funded through donations and has two fundraising events throughout the year, according to a press release. In the spring, it holds the FriendRaiser and in the fall it hosts the Sharathon.

“What we can do to serve our Southwest Washington community during 2018 will largely be based on the response we get in the two-day Sharathon,” Network Manager Cameron Beierle said in a press release. “Every donation makes a difference through us in someone’s life. Our staff is reminded regularly where the funds come from, and we focus on making every dollar donated go as far as possible for the greatest service to the community.”

The non-profit network broadcasts Christian music, informative programs and important community information 24 hours a day.

The goal of the fundraiser is to raise $135,000 for maintenance and other costs. The network has two full-time employees, three part-time employees and a number of volunteers to accomplish what other networks do with a lot more resources, according to the press release.
