One person was injured as a result of a collision on Interstate 5 about 10 miles south of Chehalis on Friday.

A 2005 Honda Odyssey van driven by Georgy Trifonov, 38, of Redmond, was struck from behind by a 2016 KIA Cadenza passenger vehicle driven by David Pratt, 69, of Hillsboro, Oregon, when Trifonov slowed down for traffic. Both vehicles were in the left lane, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Mary Ibach, 58, of Bellevue, was a passenger in the car that was struck. She suffered minor injuries and was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital.

The State Patrol said the cause of the crash was Pratt following too close. He was cited. All people involved were wearing seat belts, and drugs or alcohol were not a factor, according to the State Patrol.
