A Second Time Around thrift store plans to hold its grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony on March 29 at 12:15 p.m. The store, located at 749 S. Market Blvd. in Chehalis, opened its doors to the public on Feb. 5.

Until this year, Lewis County managed and fully funded the seniors centers in Lewis County. Now, the nonprofit Lewis County Seniors manages and funds the five senior centers and one nutrition site. The thrift store helps fund the senior centers.

According to a press release sent to The Chronicle, “Lewis County Seniors mission is to provide services to ensure all older adults are revered, cared for, and/or supported as they continue to live meaningful lives through the aging process. Our vision is to maintain a self-sustaining long term senior services program that encourages continued independence and improved quality of life for older adults.”

The store is asking the community for monetary donations as well as gently used furniture, clothing, jewelry and household items. The store accepts donations during store hours, which are Monday through Saturday 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The store is also looking for volunteers to work in thrift store.
