First Choose Local First Day Scheduled for Tuesday

Posted

The first Choose Local First Day will be held on Tuesday as local businesses offer discounts and prizes to encourage the community to explore local shops and eateries.

The event is being put on in partnership with the Community Farmers Market in Chehalis and the Chehalis Community Renaissance Team in an effort to teach the community the benefits of spending money locally.

The kick-off to the event will be held at the Community Farmers Market at 11 a.m. Reusable bags that include information about participating businesses will be given to shoppers.

There will be an opportunity to win a Choose Local First bag filled with goods from participating businesses, including a one-year membership to the Chehalis-Centralia Steam Train and the Lewis County Historical Museum, two tickets to the Farmers Market Harvest Dinner, Chehalis Mints and more.

Free tastings of the new Chehalis Blend coffee from Santa Lucia Coffee Roasters will be offered at the market from noon to 2 p.m.

More information about business discounts and prizes can be found online at www.communityfarmersmarket.net/choose-local.html.
