Friday, June 14

Swede Day Coming to Rochester

Rochester’s annual Swede Day celebration will get underway at 6 p.m. Friday, June 14, with the queen coronation.

The coronation will be at Swede Hall, 18543 Albany St., Rochester.

Homemade strawberry shortcake and refreshments will be available for $3. Live music will be performed and there will be free crowns for the children.

On Saturday,  a pancake breakfast will be served 7-10 a.m. by the American Legion. 

The Swede Day Parade gets underway at 11 a.m. Parade grand marshals will be Susanne Hawes and June Gelvin.

Also featured at Swede Day will be outdoor vendors, free games for children and pony rides (a small fee).

A traditional Swedish lunch will be served, with a small size $5 and a large size $8. It will include meatballs, potatoes, coleslaw, homemade bread and strawberry shortcake.

Hamburgers and hot dogs with chips will be available for $5.

Live music and entertainment will be provided in Swede Hall.
