The Southwest Washington Fair runs Tuesday through Sunday, showing off the agricultural roots of Lewis County. The midway lights up by night as crowds line up to be next on their favorite thrill ride, and the musical entertainment packs out multiple stages throughout the course of the week. Sample the food offerings from more vendors than you can shake a stick at. See the artful eyes and photography from people from around our region. Lewis County Community Conversations presents: Gender Revolution This documentary featuring Katie Couric examines the roles of science, society and culture with regard to gender, and sheds light on stories of struggle, understanding, ignorance and love. Hear kids’ honest opinions on being a boy or girl around the world; This teen boxer wants a chance to compete wearing her Hijab; Follow a transgender teens emotional journey to womanhood; In their words: how children are affected by gender issues gallery. This program will be presented from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday at the First United Methodist Church, 506 S. Washington Ave., Centralia, WA. 98531 from 7-9 p.m. Parking lot is in back on the Oak Street side. Comedian Margaret Cho will play the Lucky Eagle Casino with doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starting at 8 p.m. Cho is an Emmy and Grammy nominee and one of Rolling Stone’s 50 Best Stand-up Comics of All Time. Tickets start at $45 and can be purchased at the casino or by calling 800.720.1788.
