2018 Chehalis Music in the Park Lineup Announced

The 2018 City of Chehalis Music in the Park Series lineup has been announced and includes artists with four No. 1 hits and 21 top 50 songs including pop, country and southern rock. 

On Friday, July 27, country star Ty Herndon will open the series. Herndon is expected to sing his No. 1 country hits including, “What Mattered Most”, “Living in a Moment” and “It Must be Love.” 

The acoustic performance will also likely include hits from his recently released album “House on Fire.”

Hoss and the Cartwrights will open that concert, performing a wide variety of country covers from Johnny Cash to George Jones.

The second week’s concert, scheduled for Aug. 3, will feature Halfway to Hazard, a band from Nashville. The band has two top 50 songs — “Daisy” and “Devil and the Cross.”

The southern rock group has opened for Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Jason Aldean and have recently released another single called “Meet Me in Vegas.” Local favorites The Prohibition Band will open that concert with a mix of country and rock covers. 

The third and final concert, scheduled for August 10, will wrap up with Elliott Lurie, former lead singer of 1970’s band Looking Glass, most famous for the 1972 hit “Brandy, You’re a Fine Girl.



The song recently achieved fame again after being featured in “Guardians of the Galaxy 2.”

The Randy Linder Band will open that concert with a selection of classic rock covers. 

The Music in the Park Series takes place starting at 6:30 p.m. each night at Recreation Park in Chehalis at 1321 South Market Boulevard. The concerts take place behind the VR Lee Community Building. 

Shows are free and attendees should bring their own chairs or blankets and snacks. Alcohol is not permitted at the park. The event is family-friendly and restroom facilities are available on-site. A taco truck will also be on-site for the concerts.
