Centralia School District Narrows Superintendent Candidates to Two

After several hours of interviews with its top four candidates on Tuesday, the Centralia School Board announced its finalists — Dr. Lisa Grant, current superintendent of the Mossyrock School District, and Mike Gass, superintendent of the Telluride School District in Colorado.

“The plan is to offer the position to one of the two finalist candidates very soon after the community meetings,” said Ed Petersen, Public Relations Coordinator. “Once a candidate has accepted our offer, the Board of Directors will begin the process of negotiating a contract, which includes salary, benefits, and other details. The new superintendent will officially start in July.”

The finalists were scheduled to meet with the public Wednesday afternoon at Fords Prairie Elementary School, after The Chronicle’s press deadline.

Gass will meet with community members at 4 p.m., and Grant will speak at 5 p.m.

While each candidate is meeting with the public, the other will be interviewed privately by the school board.
