A suspected burglar is dead after he was shot inside a Toledo man’s home late Tuesday night.
The 62-year-old homeowner told Lewis County Sheriff’s detectives he woke up at about 10 p.m. and heard noises at his home on the 100 block of Mulford Road, according to a sheriff’s press release.
He told deputies he heard someone coming up the stairs and told the burglar to “freeze.” He made the demand again when the burglar advanced further, and shot him to stop him, according to the release.
The burglar was pronounced dead at the scene.
Names and charges were not released this morning, as detectives continue their investigation today.
