Auditor’s Office: ‘Snowpocalypse’ Won’t Affect Special Election Ballot Collection

The winter weather will not affect collection for the Special Election ballots, said Lewis County Elections Supervisor Heather Boyer.

“We are still doing our normal process,” said Boyer at about 11 a.m. Monday morning.

For the Feb. 12 Special Election, six school districts are asking voters to approve Replacement Educational Programs and Operations Levies — Boistfort, Evaline, Mossyrock, Napavine, Onalaska and Toledo. Fire District 14 in Randle is also asking voters to approve an Emergency Medical Services Regular Property Tax Levy.

Boyer said the county is closing two ballot boxes in Morton and Packwood due to weather, but that neither are in a jurisdiction that has an election.

She said people are currently collecting ballots and will collect them again Wednesday morning. She does not expect the weather to delay ballot collection or election results.

“I’ll be here,” Boyer said
