Chehalis Asks for Citizen Input on Renaissance Project

Posted

The city of Chehalis is inviting residents to take part in its ongoing Chehalis Renaissance project — a study that will set the course for the citys services, infrastructure, policies and programs over the next 25 years.

The city will hold an informational workshop at Chehalis Middle School April 3 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. where city staff will outline for citizens what has been done, and what is scheduled to be done in the future. Some of the areas to be discussed include the historic downtown, State Avenue, Twin City Town Center, Market Street, Main Street, the Steam Train Depot and the Veterans Memorial Museum, among other issues.

A second workshop is scheduled for April 15 at the same location and time. At the second workshop, attendees will split into groups to work on various issues, ideas and possible solutions identified in the first event.

Due to limited space, residents are asked to pre-register by telephoning city hall at 345-1042, ext. 4, or 345-3240.

The city is currently supplying surveys to residents in hopes of soliciting opinions. The surveys are currently available at www.cityofchehalis.com.
