Lewis County Water District 2 to Seek Funding for Water System Plan

Posted

Lewis County officials will help Lewis County Water District 2 in Onalaska seek grant funding to develop a water system plan for its service area.

A public hearing will take place for review of a Community Development Block Grant, or CDBG, Planning Only Grant application from the Washington State Department of Commerce. That hearing is scheduled for April 13.

Water District 2, which serves the unincorporated Onalaska area, conducted an income survey and determined that using money to update its water system plan would benefit their low- to moderate-income community members.

According to the hearing notice, the county and Water District 2 will ask for $24,000.

Community Development Block Grant funds are given to communities through a variety of grants, primarily with a goal of economic development in communities and towns with a high percentage of low to moderate income residents.
