The Chehalis City Council unanimously approved a collective bargaining agreement between the city and the police department’s union — Teamsters Local Union 252 — on Monday night.

The city council agreed to a 2 percent wage increase for police department employees over a three year contract, a standard increase requested by the union.

The city council discussed the collective bargaining agreement in executive session for 15 minutes prior to the council’s regular meeting Monday night.

Human Resource Director Peggy Hammer was unavailable Monday night to discuss how much of a raise the police department employees will get from the 2 percent increase.
