Christopher & Banks: Women’s Apparel Retailer Moving to Centralia Outlets in June

The Centralia Factory Outlets will gain a new tenant just in time for the summer, as a national women’s clothing retailer will join the shopping complex, according to a press release.

Christopher & Banks, a Minneapolis, Minn.-based women’s clothing store catering to a 40- to 60-year-old clientele, has announced a target date of June 10 to move into a location at 110 High St., between Lane Bryant Outlet and Bath & Body Works Outlet.

The new store will sell its merchandise at prices 30 percent lower than what they charge at their full-price retail stores nationwide, the release said.

Christopher & Banks is the latest retail addition to the complex that straddles both sides of Interstate 5 along the Harrison Avenue strip in Centralia. Earlier this year, Toys ‘R’ Us Express extended its lease and officials with Centralia Factory Outlets said at least two other stores were in the process of either exploring or closing in on lease agreements.

The outlets have been part of a ramped-up activity that has seen retail chains move into the local area recently, as the Twin City Town Center in Chehalis added two new stores — Rue 21 and Petsense — earlier this year. In 2010, the outlets added Coach, a popular handbag and women’s accessory store, and Toys ‘R’ Us Express, which opened under a shorter lease initially.

Representatives with Centralia Factory Outlets could not be reached before press time for comment on Christopher & Banks’ arrival.
