Centralia Library to Teach How to Turn Wool to Clothing

Posted

Centralia Timberland Library staff members will team up with local spinners and fiber artists to present a program for children, grades 1 through 6, on how sheep clothing – wool – becomes people clothing. It takes place at the library 2-3:30 p.m. Friday Sept. 26.

Children will learn where wool and other fibers come from, and how fibers are processed to be made into clothing and other products. Members of the Ewesful Spinners Guild will demonstrate carding, spinning and knitting. Kids can take turns at four activity stations, handling various fibers and trying some of the techniques.

This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Centralia Timberland Library. All programs at Timberland Regional Libraries are free and open to the public.

The Centralia Timberland Library is located at 110 S. Silver Street. For information, contact the library at (360) 736-0183 or visit www.TRL.org.
